                               RESOLUTION NO. 20322
        
        
                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ADMINISTRATOR OF
                   THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS TO ENTER INTO AN
                   AGREEMENT WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE AT
                   CHATTANOOGA TO PAY PART OF THE CITY'S REQUIRED
                   PROPORTIONATE SHARE OF EXPENSES FOR THE
                   REPLACEMENT OF THE BRIDGE AND APPROACHES ON
                   VINE STREET OVER THE ABANDONED BELT LINE
                   RAILROAD UP TO THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND NINE
                   HUNDRED AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($35,900.00), IF THE
                   CITY KEEPS VINE STREET CLOSED TO THROUGH
                   TRAFFIC UNTIL JANUARY 1, 2003.

              	   BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
         CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Administrator of Public
         Works be and is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement
         with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to pay part of
         the City's required proportionate share of expenses for the
         replacement of the bridge and approaches on Vine Street over 
the
         abandoned Belt Line Railroad up to $35,900.00 if the City keeps 

         Vine Street closed to through traffic until January 1, 2003.
